Tips on professional singing of existing light songs (not for classical):
1. Do not improvise: Sing songs as matching as possible per standard version of the available song, because the audience expect expect exact matching with original song.
2. Almost all recorded songs has minor variations from the written composition of the same song due to practical human factors, but the variations are under allowable limit to stay musical. But always follow the singing of original singer.
3. In recording the timing of taala/rhythm is not as precise as computer does, but the variations are under allowable limits. So when comparing a recorded song with computer program, do not get surprised if beats timing does not exactly match.
4. Very often speed of the song are changed purposefully.
5. In hindi music, it is common to use multiple taalas, such as teen taal + keharva.
6. For precise singing, it is helpful to know:
A. Tempo
B. Notes used
C. Time signature and meter (taala)
7. Practice: Practice is key for success in music. Sometimes you may feel it is difficult to sync different components of singing - such as emotion, tempo, taala, notes. But remember ...these all are doable by practice ...all singers have done it ...you can also do it. Human mind is amazing ...keep practicing ...you will be able to sing the magic.

1. When singing classical songs, of course improvisation is almost essential part. Or when your audience specifically ask for improvisation - then you should use improvisation.
2. If you want to compose music, please take close look how original poem is converted to song. Different parts of a poem is organized such that it can fit well with the time signature and meter of the music.

Legends and assumptions for the notations
::Sa = S, Re = R, Ga = G, Ma = M, Pa = P, Dha = D, Ni = N
::Sa and Pa are always natural (no flat/sharp for Sa and Pa). Ma is never flat (altered Ma = Sharp Ma). Re, Ga, Dha, and Ni are never sharp (altered RGDN = flat RGDN).
::In most compositions, either natural or altered notes are used, but not always. So, for easy reading, altered notes are also represented by uppercase letters in the notation unless natural and altered both variations of the same note are used in a composition.
